We believe in “Perfection is not attainable but if we chase perfection, we can catch excellence” Yes, every school and college strives for excellence. So we do at G.C. Meham with the Vision “To Establish an Excellent, Value-based Higher Educational Hub to Meet the Challenges of Global Competitiveness”, several steps are being undertaken for multi-dimensional growth of the institution and effective industry-institute interface, contributing in turn, towards the growth of a healthy & happy society. We provide the environment where students can find complete self-expression in the college ambience. We are, thus, rendering every help to them to make their dreams come true. We also assure to all stakeholders that college will create the synergetic blend of theory and practice, academics and administration, education and employment, traditionalism and modernism to prepare the self-reliant individuals of the highest fiber.

About the College

The college “Chaubisi Degree College, Meham” was established in July, 1981 but taken over by the Government in 1987 with a holy man Shri Dr. R.C. Punia and his vision and dreamt to uplift underprivileged in the form of education in general and technical education, in particular. The College is NAAC Accredited and UGC approved, backed by a legacy of 39 years in shaping student's career! We offer undergraduate degree courses affiliated to MDU University. The college has emerged as an educational institution with difference, a promising institution of the region providing value added, quality education in humanities, commerce, science and computer, an institution striding towards excellence!

The college has 2057 students on roll now, of which 1074 are boys and 983 girls. There are 57, well qualified faculty members and 59 non-teaching staff members on roll. We maintain a teacher-student ratio of nearly 1:36, in line with the DHE and MDU recommendations.

Presently college is running under direction and supervision of the principal Mrs Asha Malik who is well qualified holding M.Sc. (Zoology) and M Phil (Cytogenetic) degrees with a wide teaching experience of more than 29 years.

Facilities/ Services

Infrastructure: The college spreads in 21 acres land with 25 classrooms, 7 labs of which a computer lab consists of 50 computers & English Language Lab with 23 computers, one Library, one Sports Ground, one Basket Ball Ground, one Vallyball, one Football, one Badminton Ground, one 400 meters Track, two Girls Common Rooms, three Parks, one Auditorium. College is connected with Hot Line for 24 hours electricity supply. There is also 50 MBPS Lease Line for Internet (BSNL).

Library: College library is in separate building with one book section, one student reading room with a capacity of 125, one faculty reading room and one store. Library is fully air conditioned which has a collection of 21669 books. College library contains standard course texts, other related materials and offers more specialised collections and electronic resources for particular subjects. It is fully computerized with SOUL-II. There is also a photocopy machine, printer and Wi-Fi facility of internet to provide the online accessibility and printing of learning material to students.

Surveillance: All specific areas like Library, Girls Common Rooms, Art Block, Commerce Block, Science Block, Defense Lab and Open Playgrounds are in the surveillance of C.C.T.V Cameras.

Sports: College offers a diverse range of competitive and recreational sporting opportunities to help students lead a healthy and active lifestyle alongside your academic studies.

Mentorship of Student: The College is adopting a mentorship program according to the guidelines of the Director General Higher Education Department Haryana. Each faculty member is assigned a duty of mentor of a group of students. The feedback, complaints and suggestions regarding classes, water and sanitation etc., received via mentor by the principal and all things are kept in record for consideration.

Cells & Committees: The College has set up one college council, major four cells i.e. IQAC, Women, Sexual Harassment and Placement and 68 committees to ensure the smooth running of all college affairs towards achievement of institutional goals.

Social Service Units: In addition to academic activities, college also provides the social service’s opportunity to students via YRC, NSS, NCC, SAP etc.

Earn While Learn Scheme: It provides the opportunity to the needy and poor students to earn during the college hours by serving the institute along with learning.

Publication (Chabutra): College acknowledges and spreads the voices of students as well as faculties via publication of magazine named “CHABUTRA” every year.
