The Government
College Meham was established in 1981 and was taken over by the
Haryana Government on 20 October 1987. It is located in District
Rohtak of Haryana. The Government College Meham is a premier college in
the area known for excellence in educational standards, various
educational programs, grand faculty, rich cultural extracurricular activities,
and modern infrastructure. The Government College Meham is affiliated
with Maharshi Dayanand University Rohtak. The College supports the highest
superior standards and best practices in higher education to develop
all-round personality in the students.
History:

The people of Meham and nearby villages faced
problems regarding higher education for their wards. A committee of five
members was constituted to collect the funds and raise the donations for
building up the project. A renowned businessman named Lala-ji Jeevan Ram
donated a huge amount of four lakh Indian rupees at that time. Further, the
local folk of Kishangarh, Meham, and other villages came together and started a
charitable college under the able guidance of ex-MLA SHRI. HARSWAROOP BOORA and
the first principal Shri. R.C. Punia had taken the college to new heights. Later
on, with span of time the institute was taken over by the HARYANA GOVERNMENT on
20TH October 1987.
